Two visits before, at your place.
We write one page about what you want and what you’re scared of. I meet your partner and show him where his hands go.

From 38 weeks, I’m on call.
Phone on, bag packed, car has gas.

You call. I come.
Home first if you want, then the hospital. I stay for the whole labor.

Two hours after.
First feed, first photos, then I get out of your way.

Two visits at home.
Two weeks, while it’s still loud.
If I’m at another birth
Tess Alvarado takes my place. DONA-certified, nine years, and you’ll meet her before 38 weeks — not over text at 4cm. It has happened twice in six years.
What I don’t do
I don’t do vaginal exams, fetal monitoring, blood pressure, or any clinical task. I don’t give medical advice or tell you to refuse a treatment. I don’t speak for you to your provider — I help you speak for yourself. And I don’t have opinions about your birth that outrank yours.
With partners
Most partners want to help and don’t know how. I’m not there to replace him. I’m there so he can go to the bathroom without being frightened, and so someone in the room has done this before.
